No more dreaming! New tricks coming up on your next session. How? The answer is Visualization.

There are different types of trick visualization you could try:
1. Before action visualization. Before going for a session recall all the moves you have to do to perform your trick. You can do this just before going for a session, or even just before attending a trick!
2. Visualization in action. Imagine doing a kiteboarding trick when you are on a trampoline or holding a kite bar at the beach. Imagine the move, and try rotating your body as if you were doing the trick.
3. Guided Visualization. It's a short voice recording where I will guide you through the trick visualization. To achieve this, we want to be harmonious and restful to feel, see, and hear what we want to visualize. In the beginning, I get your body and mind relaxed through a short Yoga Nidra-inspired relaxation. Yoga Nidra is a 'yogic sleep', a state in which you will be able to feel and see the intangible. Then we will move towards visualizing kiteboarding tricks. You can practice this as often as you need.
Kiteboarding's like any other sport, requires a physical skill to be learned and mastered over time. I would like to share a short study conducted by Dr. Blaslotto at the University of Chicago in 1996 on visualization.
Dr. Blaslotto and his team conducted an experiment where participants were divided into three groups. The task was simple – shooting basketball free throws.
- Group A everyday shooting practice for an hour.
- Group B only visualized themselves making free throws - never practiced physically.
- Group C did nothing related to basketball.
After 30 days, the results were astonishing!
- Group A, which practiced physically, improved by 24%.
- Group C, which did nothing, did not improve (no surprise).
- Group B, which only visualized successful shots, improved by an astounding 23%, almost as much as the group that physically practiced!
